<trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>   The concept of focal segmental glomerulosclerosis in clinical practice is used to describe both a separate disease and morphological characteristics of secondary kidney damage. Most often, focal segmental glomerulosclerosis occurs as a result of the course of primary glomerulonephritis and is the cause of the development of nephrotic syndrome. A feature of the course of nephrotic syndrome in focal segmental glomerulosclerosis is a longer response to steroid therapy, or the formation of dependence/resistance to glucocorticosteroids. Despite the development of scientific progress, the problem of focal segmental glomerulosclerosis in primary glomerulonephritis is still relevant. Understanding the mechanisms of podocyte damage and disease progression is important not only for basic research, but also for everyday clinical practice.</p></trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>дети</kwd><kwd>гломерулонефрит</kwd><kwd>нефротический синдром</kwd><kwd>фокально-сегментарный гломерулосклероз</kwd><kwd>подоциты</kwd><kwd>иммуносупрессивная терапия</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>сhildren</kwd><kwd>glomerulonephritis</kwd><kwd>nephrotic syndrome</kwd><kwd>focal segmental glomerulosclerosis</kwd><kwd>podocytes</kwd><kwd>immunosuppressive therapy</kwd></kwd-group><funding-group><funding-statement xml:lang="ru">Работа выполнена в рамках финансирования Госзадания «Клинические и молекулярно- генетический критерии прогнозирования эффективности стероидной и иммуносупрессивной терапии первичного нефротического синдрома у детей», № 200080056</funding-statement><funding-statement xml:lang="en">The work was carried out within the framework financing of the State task “Clinical and molecular genetic criteria for predicting the effectiveness of steroid and immunosuppressive therapy for primary nephrotic syndrome in children”, № 200080056</funding-statement></funding-group></article-meta></front><back><ref-list><title>References</title><ref id="cit1"><label>1</label><citation-alternatives><mixed-citation xml:lang="ru">Fogo A.
